5k Run/Walk Success

Saturday May 19th, 2012 marked the launching of the first annual Blair’s Tree of Hope 5k Run/Walk! Nearly 100 walkers and runners showed up bright and early at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve in Rockford, Minnesota to tread 3.1 miles in support of Blair’s Tree of Hope. The event was complete with music, food, finisher’s medals, and even a bone marrow drive! Special thanks to our sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible and endless gratitude to our race participants and all those who raised funds for the event! Stay tuned for information on our 2nd annual 5k Run/Walk! We look forward to seeing you at the starting line!

Eco Eggs – Easter Eggs – Spring Baskets

Being in the hospital during a holiday is no fun! Our daughter Blair spent several of them there and it was heartbreaking to watch. Blair’s Tree of Hope received 200 candy filled Eco Eggs from this great company. When I contacted Eco Eggs about their wonderful product, they immediately asked if they could donate to us to take to the hospitals. We will be putting together baskets to deliver to the Minneapolis Children’s and U of M Amplatz Children’s Hospitals. It is companies and people like Eco Eggs that make these types of activities possible for BTOH, the hospitals, and the families. Thank you to Karen, Christine, and Pam from Eco Eggs. Cards Needed

Blair’s Tree of Hope is collecting donations of unused cards to distribute, at no cost, to families whose children are receiving care at the Children’s Hospital. This includes but is not limited to aniversary cards, birthday cards, other holiday cards, and all season cards. Many of these families are unable to leave the hospital to buy cards to send to loved ones. Please consider helping make their lives a little easier.

We are also accepting donations of postage stamps and envelopes for families to mail their cards. Most of these families are putting all their resources towards their child’s medical care and do not have the funds to mail these cards.

Donations can be sent to:

Minnetonka, MN 55305

Thank you for helping make the little things a bit easier for a family in need!

Happy Thanksgiving

Blair’s Tree of Hope Foundation along with Jim Wagner (owner of Wagner’s Drive in), Deb Wingert, Brynn Wingert, Tug Wingert, Theresa Hodgman, and the Sandy Plattner family are busy preparing to serve up to 200 family members at the U of M Amplatz Children’s Hospital on Thanksgiving Day.

We want to extend a special thank you to the following people who donated this meal: Jim Wagner, Wagner’s Drive Inns, Lampson & Tews, Inc., Sysco Foods of MN, Baker Sales, St. Louis Park Lions Club. We wish to help brighten the day for these individuals and provide them with more reasons to give thanks!
