HOPE…..4 SIMPLE LETTERS PUT TOGETHER TO FORM ONE POWERFUL IDEA….Helping Other
People Everyday. The thought that makes us smile, even chokes us up just a bit.  Could we,
this group of kind and caring friends, really make a difference?

On June 22, 2005 the Anderson family was forever changed.  Blair Erin, then 14 years old was
rushed to the hospital feeling worse then she had ever felt before.  After some blood work
and tests, the word no family wants to hear was quietly spoken…CANCER.  With no time to
think, they went home packed a suitcase for Blair and headed straight to Children’s Hospital.
This was the beginning of a journey for one family – one family who mirrors many others.

Blair, like so many other children, spent months and months in the hospital receiving
treatments.  In many cases the treatments make these kids even sicker than before they
started.  Their families are scared, stressed, and have no time in their days to handle the
routines that they have been so used to.  The basics are left undone…the driveway
shoveling, the grass cutting, the dog walking, grocery shopping, cooking and yes even
eating.  Healthy meals are replaced with fast food or vending machine food for Mom, Dad and
siblings as there is just no time for anything else.

Throughout Blair’s illness she never lost HOPE that she would be cancer free.  She fought
courageously not only for her self but for all other kids she met along the way.  Blair lost her
battle on Sunday March 25, 2007 after conquering cancer on two separate occasions.  She
left behind so many wonderful memories and an idea an idea to help people.

So yes!  That’s the answer to the question at the beginning of “Who We are”..  YES…YES….
YES, we can HELP OTHER PEOPLE EVERYDAY.  WE can make a difference.  There are families
that need our help, they need to eat healthy foods even though they have no time to cook….
they need to have a clean and neat yard, they need help with their children, their homes and
their pets.  Simply put, they need us – Blair’s Tree of Hope!.
